Health question

I pretty much eat "when I'm hungry." Is that a bad/good thing? Some of you may say "well youll just get fat", but I'm not. For example, some days I am just hungry as all get out and eat like 5 or 6 meals, packing away 5000 calories. Other days I only eat 2 light meals, only packing away about 1500 calories. Since I'm a 17 yr old guy, my larger calorie intake is more common. Anyways...I guess my question is: is it ok to just eat when you're hungry, as long as you dont overeat; or to always have 3 square meals a day?

Depends on the type of metabolism you have and other factors.

For example, I can eat 'till the cows come home and I wont get fat where as other people really have to watch what they eat and they still get a little flabby.

If I ate only when I was hungry I'd starve to death. Thanks to Rheumatoid Arthritis issues I spent several months where I just never felt like eating. (Weird symptom eh?) Meds take care of that now. But I think that generally, as long as you don't eat the moment you're a little hungry and instead stick it out for a while to make sure you really are, then it's a pretty good way to go about it.

yeah it is a b!tch how it's as hard for me to gain weight as it is for roseanne barr to lose weight. why isn't there a jenny craig sorta weight gaining institute? sheesh.

eh.. i only eat when im hungry.. some days that means maybe one meal + a lot of snacks.. other days that means 6 HUGE MEALS! :D it all depends..

It's better if you eat 5, or 6 small meals per day. That way you can keep your metabolism running on high all day long to burn off the most calories.
