You can also get mercury posioning from a gas service regulator (assuming that you have an old one that hasn't been replaced). But there has to be something wrong with the regulator in order for that to happen.

Guys, thanks for your support. bob4432, you've been a real inspiration to me. I sincerely thank you guys. I know this is a computer forum, and I feel like an idiot posting all this stuff, but it's helping and I feel I'm getting close to finding out what's wrong with me (probably just a week or so away -- after I get the MRI). So here's what I'm thinking.

Today: I have a new regular doc appointment to replace the guy who's giving up on me. I'm thinking I should go in and get tested for heavy metals, just in case, like you guys said.

End of this week: Will get contacted by the neurologist in regards to the (3) MRIs (head, 2x spine). I think I should probably cancel these, because of info below/money

Monday of next week (off work): Have a (1) head MRI scheduled in my hometown with my hometown doc. The hospital said they'd be willing to work with me on finances if my insurance doesn't cover it. Since it's a head MRI only it'll cost about $3000 with contrast, while the 3 MRIs by the neurologist will be about 3x that.

If the MRI comes back negative, and so does the heavy metal test, I'm going to assume that what I have is just anxiety causing severe physical pains. I just find it hard to believe, and everything tells me something is wrong -- but I will accept it.

Crap. You bring up a very good point. I didn?t think of it before while reading either.

My mom brought home a ucaliptious (sp?) plant once that drove everyone in hour house to some illness except me. Well all it did to me was give me a slight headache and I hated the smell. Everyone else got sick and my dad had bad headaches.

Defiantly consider this. If it wasn?t for my wise grandmother that plant would probably still be in the house. Some people are allergic to the strangest things sometimes.

Really man go to the neurologist. Like others have said he is a specialest. The cost should be irrelevant to what is happening to you. If insurance doesn?t cover it the hospital will likely take payments and possibly reduce the bill when they find out they don?t get to over charge an insurance company. My dentist did that regularly for me when I was unemployed and need some serious work done. Get these test done and let the doctors look at them and go from there. If you parents can help take every bit of help they can offer.

glad to hear i could somebody out :)

just our of curiosity, do you have to go to the hospital for the mri? when i get an mri i usually go to some specialized imaging place where all they do is stuff like xrays, mris and ct scans, just like when i get a blood test (every month or so) i don't go to the hospital for that but rather a place where all they do is blood and urine analysis. and i could have sworn that i have seen the bills and they were like $1500 or less even with the contrast. i believe some places will quote you like $1800 and if you pay at the time of the procedure they will knock off like ~40% or something. hope this helps
