Headset

I'm looking to buy a headset (headphones and mic) for gaming mostly. I've had plenty of pairs in the past ranging from 10-30 bucks. Most have broken or have stopped working.

I am going to spend a little more money this time around on a quality headset and was looking for some recommendations.

This is what I have came up with so far:

Medusa 5.1 (~100 bucks shipped)
Senhiesser 550 (~130 bucks shipped)
eDimensional Audio FX 5.1 (~65 bucks shipped)

Any advice or other suggestions? Anyone use the ones I mentioned above?

Plantronics GameCom 777 for about USD100.00.

It's nice but, because it's a closed system, extended wear makes my ears sweat. OTOH, as my ex-wife said, "I am a fat head!".

Newegg is showing a deal from Creative, where you get an X-Fi card and the Fatal1ty headset for $125.

If you want a quality headset for quite a bit less, try the Sennheiser PC161 model. They are out of stock where I bought mine, but "buy" has them brand new on ebay for $62 shipped.

Senn 500 series + clip-on mic will blow the rest of those options out of the water.
