Can anyone suggest a good Headphone/MIC set that would be good for speach recognition.

Thanks

Plantronics is the best company for voice recognition IMO. Someone posted a $30 model, which is pretty cheap for a Plantronics considering that their prices generally range from $80-$90. I have a pair of Labtec headphone/MIC combo, which is pretty good for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I was looking at the Plantronics. I just don't know whether to get the USB version or buy a set that plugs into my sound card. I have a SB Audigy, so that type should work fine. Are there any benefits to having a USB headset?

I would just stick with the regular one, where one plug goes into the MIC and the other goes into the line out. I've never tried USB headsets so I don't have any experiences to tell you, but why try something new when the old way works fine? ;)

I dont see any benefit in using a USB headset, so save your money and get a regular one...

I know someone who writes for a living, and he uses voice recognition when he writes... all he does is plug a wireless headset into his soundcard and go from there... from what he said it works pretty well....

I'd recommend Plantronics as well, I use the LS-1 and works fine for me....

Thanks Trashman,

That is what I just bought. I got them at Staples though, and paid about $10.00 bucks more than Newegg's cost. It about evens out when you figure in shipping.

So far I like them. I am using them with Office XP Speach recognition. For anyone else using Office XP's speach recognition, be sure to read this. I noticed a system slow down while using their speach engine. Make sure to turn the service off, when you are not using it.

Thanks for all of your recomendations.
