Thanks for pointing this out! I just ordered it. I been waiting to buy my computer for months, because of this part being sold out, and the price continually rising. Its listed on newegg now for 260, and still sold out. Now I can finally buy and build 😀

Same here, I have been waiting since mid Jan. I had to pay tax, but it's still cheaper than most other places.

Yea definately, I couldn't even find anywhere online that wasn't already sold out, let alone this cheap. I payed a total of 222, with shipping and tax.

Of course this would become available the same week I paid $205 for the Xeon E3110 from a questionable retailer. Well, if the Xeon Wolfdale turns out to be legit, then I suppose I won't regret having avoided tax on a $200 chip ($10 to 15ish for me).

By the way if you do live near a Micro Centre, there's a pickup option. The web page will report whether a particular location has any in stock. Cambridge, MA, reports E8400s available.

Didn't mean to mislead anyone. I live 200 miles from the nearest microcenter. I just wanted everyone to know that they might be available. I tried ordering one and cancelled just before it was completed. Last time I tried online it showed "no longer available".

Well I ordered yesterday morning when I first saw this post, and still no email from them. And I mean nothing, no confirmation, and no backorder. So, I'm not sure where I stand! :-|

If they were actually in stock at this price, pricewatch wouldn't still be showing $300 from everyone. Just get an E3110 for $229 and forget it. 🙂 excaliberpc.com, or allstarshop.com ($246 though). Make sure your board supports it. All gigabyte P35's do AFAIK.
