Yesterday I decided to purchase the tickets for my NZ holiday.
Using 'single braincell mode' I thought I would try the new division of a company that I have used before.
A little voice which bothers me from time to time said "make screenshots", so during the process I took pretty little pictures of plane icons and submit buttoms.
All went well until the payment submit, after pressing the buttom my fares jumped $700 USD, the dep/arr. dates were incorrect and I had recieved a sex change.

After tracking down the firms phone number through a number thingee I called them, yelled, and repeated myself a million times because the twit on the other end couldn't understand a word that I said. It was so bad that when I said "I as in ICECREAM" and she said "you mean E as in ELEPHANT"...

She 'played' dumb and said that the 1600 USD was the correct quote, to which I said "BS I have screenshots that prove otherwise". She promptly changed the bookings etc and sent out a Credit Card payment form because the original booking was in the process of being cancelled.

I put down to phone feeling quite pleased with my Super Sleuth efforts..

Until this morning, Hubby goes to work, signs the form and sends it off via Fax, meanwhile "Ms I don't even have one braincell" sent me an email saying all my bookings had been cancelled.

I called the company back, explained that the payment info had been sent... she replied 'Ohhhh'.

I lost my cool and told her to destroy the info followed by 'your company sucks and so does its customer service'.

So now its either Orbitz or Shark Fodder.

Moral - be very careful using a new company !

<< So you're a man now? What does your husband think about that? >>

When I told him he said "You managed to keep 'that' well hidden" ;)

What's your secret? Duct tape?

Seriously, I've always used Travelocity and never had a problem.

BoberFett - Fares to NZ can vary greatly between different sites, so I generally shop around. I had quotes starting at 900 USD and ending at 1700 USD.
Orbitz quoted 1200 USD, so I think I will try them.
