Headphones

I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good headphones, a good manf of headphones, or the manf's i should stay away from?

oh, for gaming btw.

edit:
Also i hear people talking about 5.1 headphones. most say they are useless for gaming right?

A lot of people say the Grados are a bit uncomfortable with extended wear. I personally have two sets of the Sony MDR-V6, these are still comfortable after hours of wear. Some guy did a comparison between the MDR-V6 and the HD280, and based on his word, the V6 might be more applicable for gaming.

Grado headphones are not for gaming, period. Audio-Technica ATH-A500 is excellent for gaming. Goes for $99 at audiocubes.com

Sennheiser makes some really good phones, and some really bad phones. Generally, Sennheiser's enthusiast and audiophile headphones are very good, while the lower-priced ones you need to read some reviews on (HD280 Pros are good, however, for a very low price. personal experience). Grado is another great manufacturer; i personally have a pair of SR60s and i love them. I dont know about other people, but they work excellently for gaming (crystal clear in CS:Source, great environmental and 3D sound detection).

i own the bose triports. dont have much to compare them to, but they are CRISP, i hear sounds from those that i dont hear from my logitech z2300 speakers. might be logitech's crappy speakers, but bose products cost a premium for a reason. you get what you pay for. i recommend the bose triports for $150

Unless you're talking about bose.

No highs- no lows - must be Bose! 😉

i hear more highs and lows from those speakers than my logitech z2300's. and no bare distortion only at max levels on my audigy 2 zs platinum. dont critisize if you can't afford bose's premium price. maybe something better for your price range would be some nice mid-priced sonys

compare your Bose with a pair of SR60s (70 bucks). then lose. I actually compared mine with the $300 noise-cancelling ones and my SR60s seriously sounded better. the person who got the Bose moped for a while.

naw i'd still take the bose.yea those $70 headphones must be real nice and are the best, thats what poorer people tell themselves

Bose is a known rip-off, and anyone who knows anything about high-end audio knows not to take them seriously.

LOL, I'm not even gonna comment on that.

AKG, Beyer Dynamics, Grado, and Qualia are my favorites. Followed by Sennheiser and Koss. Sony and Bose bring up the rear.
