I would like some headphones strictly for music listening under $50. Primary source is rap so I would like some that are capable of a lot of bass (not so much that when it hits nothing else can be heard). I would also like for them to fit over the ears. If it opens up any avenues i can also use any that connect using the 1/4" jack. but I doubt any of that size are under $50.

Also, a quick question for anyone interested. I have a Pionner receiver with a 1/4" headphone jack. I use the 1/8" style headphones on an adapter. When I play the headphones REALLY loud (not in my ear. And I mean to where you can hear the little metal diaphragms hitting against the casing), I listen over at my subwoofer and can hear a small amount of bass coming from it. Is there a reason the signal is bouncing like this?

I  my AKG's. I've got the old K220M's which I think were replaced by the newer K models.

Thanks for looking into the AKG's. I feel like I'm the only one recommending them sometimes :)

musiciansfriend.com should have the K55's for $29.99 with reasonable or free shipping.

Yeah Rice sorry about that. Thx for pointing out my mistake Akhen. Those 280's look great but way out of my budget. Even $90 like i see on some places is much more than i have. :(

Sennheiser HD201s. They're like 25 bucks and put out incredible bass. Check the reviews, they're about the best cheap headphones you can buy.

If BASS is what you want and under 50 is what you like, then the KOSS KSC-75 / 35 is what you need ;)

Sennheiser Hd212's they are meant for DJs and sound awesome and have great bass. I listen to mainly rap and they sound very good. They cost around $60 and are well worth it.
