Headphones for gym recommendations

TwiceOver

Lifer
I like the behind the head / sport style headphones. I've never found ear-buds or in-ear phones that stay in my ears. Need something comfortable to wear for ~2hrs. Not so worried about "sweat proof" but always a positive.

Budget around $50 if possible. Any recommendations out there?

You mention in-ear headphones in your post, but I've had the opposite sort of luck (?) with them. As long as I don't knock the cable, the ear piece usually will not come out of my ear. Maybe if you've got a pair, you could give it a shot by tucking the cable through your shirt? Could end up saving you $50, and I find that in-ear tend to cancel out the most noise too!

They all just fall out no matter what I'm doing. Even the ones where you squish the foam and pack the things into your ear, the foam expands and they pop out of my ear.

Have you tried over the ear earbuds?

I haven't tried anything like that yet. Seems like they would just fall off my ears too. Hard to tell I guess.

Interesting product.

Strange. It makes me wonder if the rubbery piece on the front of the earbud is too big for your ear canal. I've never had to switch them out, but a few different in-ear headphones have come with different sized rubber... things.

I've actually never seen the foam ones that you're talking about. I use a pair of Creative in-ear headphones that actually came with my old Dell XPS M1530 laptop. I never used them for the longest time, but I needed some headphones, tried them out, liked the sound, and I was sold. 🙂

I'm not sure if they're the same, but mine look kind of like these:

I certainly wouldn't want to push you back toward something you don't think works, but maybe it was just not the right setup?

What are you listening to music on? I ended up getting some behind the neck Rocket Fish Bluetooth Headphones. They sound pretty damn good, and having no wires is really really nice. They're around $50 but I see them on Amazon for cheaper sometimes. Best Buy will have them on sale from time to time too. If you listen to music on a device that has bluetooth I'd look into these. I can wear them for a few hours with no discomfort and they seem pretty sweat proof.

Thanks QueBert. I use my android phone and listen to Slacker radio or Pocketcasts. My only concern would be wearing out the foam with sweat. Might give them a go anyway since they have such good reviews.
