headphones are gargling sounds/talking/singing especially.

I was watching an episode of 24 with my Bose QuietComfort headphones, and then i believe I paused it or maybe the jack fell like half way out or something, anyways, something must of happened, because now the sound is distorted, when talking or singing happens u can barely hear anything, it sounds like if a computer were talking (but you can't understand any of hte words), its very hard to explain. Sometimes there is beeping. It kinda makes the sound you hear when some video is streaming over the internet too.

I tried plugging the headphones into my ipod, same problem. What could be the problem? Are they fried? Or is this fixable?

I bought these used off ebays for christmas :-( - and they were working perfectly before yesterday, so i'm guessing they are not under warranty or anything like that.

thanks

see, i can't remember. I think that may have been it - it was extremely high on my computer speakers and then i plugged it into my headphones, making it louder.

any other ideas?

it seriously sounds like a video is streaming in my headphones (that nasty like flowing stream sound." While I can still hear the singing, it sounds distant. Are they blown out? Anything I can do?
