headphones are also fm radio antennas?

so i broke down and bought the 1 gb muvo tx fm, but it gets shite reception. like, 3 stations in a 1.5 mile radius, and i'm in a suburb of los angeles. ridiculous. i called creative and they told me the headphones doubled as the antennas, and since i want to get new phones anyway, i'd like to have ones that give me good reception 'cause otherwise i'm returning the whole thing. any thoughts? i'd like ones that clip around the ears, as i'm primarily using this for running. tia 🙂

i use shure e2cs with my zen micro and I do not have any problems with my reception. my shure cables are thick as hell though.

IIRC, they are the kind that fit into your ear canal. might not be good for running though, because you hear every little thing your body does way louder. each step would be like "THUMP THUMP THUMP"

yah, I agree with that. plus these isolate like crazy I do not want to get hit my a stray car or something.

Yes, I used the e2c during the summer in Hong Kong.
34 degrees celcius, I was sweating like crazy and the e2c still stayed inside my ears.

someone recommended getting headphones with an unshielded cable, or at least a skinny and long cable. would that make sense?

i used 7 different headphones. they all produced the same unusable results. any ideas? or is it just physically impossible?
