Headphone suggestions?

What would be the best typre of earphones for running/jogging? In ear, behind neck, etc????

I had some sony in ear ones that were ~$40. One of the wires somehow broke so I need to replace them. They were pretty decent but I want to get something a little nicer.


Any specific recommendations?

i believe the sony behind-the-back will be the best jogging headphones under $40

there are better-sounding cans/buds for under $40 like the ones mentioned above, but i believe that they will be terrible for jogging.

I can easily run an hour on the elliptical with them in just fine. I can just as easily go jog outside with them, or lift...etc. They are a really nice fit for me.

Just to be clear, my sony's were ~$40. The new pair can be ~100.

They suck. No offense, they are definitely better than the earbuds that came with the devices I've bought (Sansa m250 MP3 players and iRiver H140), but they sound like shit compared to my Etymotic ER4S earbuds and I refuse to use them. On my shopping list are two pairs of Etymotic ER4P's, which are said to sound pretty much like the Etymotic I already have (2 pair), but are far more efficient. I need the efficiency with my m250's.

I agree.

You really can't jog with ear buds. They eventually get sweaty and slip out with the cable friction moving about.

Stick with any headphone that braces to your head--much better for jogging!

I use the AKG K26P.........It's a closed ear headphone so you get better sound and it has comfortable pleather instead of foam so the sweat doesn't absorb or enter the ear. It's also a stylish headphone. This AKG is very highly reviewed and will beat the crap out of stuff in the big box stores.

If you're on a budget, AKG also carries the cheaper K-27i model.

Bottom line is that you can't go wrong with the AKG for exercising and sound quality.

Exactly.

The microphonics (stethescope sound) is horrendous with the Etys and many other earbuds.

Stay away from the earbuds for exercise.

Light headphones with a headband seem like your best bet.

KSC75+Headband from these cheap headphones.

Or maybe Seinheiser HD 205s, they are the larger ear-cupping headphones, but I hear the headband is so tight they are like wearing a vise on your head.

I use Shure E3C's for running with the foam inserts. Squeeze the foam, put it in your ear and the foam expands - creating a tight seal. Plus, the cable runs over the top of your ear and down the back. They've never fallen out on me.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to want to wear those running/jogging.

I'd second the vote for KSC-75s with (or without) getting a headband instead of the ear clips.

I use the KSC-75's when I'm mowing the lawn or working outside. They stay put on my ears while working, however I've never tried jogging with them. For a budget headphone, they work pretty well. You can probably find a pair for around $15 - $20.

I'm not as serious audiophile, but I enjoy listening to my HD-555 while relaxing.

yeah, sennheisers unless you want to save a few bucks. im no audiophile, so ive got a couple pairs of marshmallows since theyre like, 13 bucks or so at amazon.
