Headphone Question

The included headphones that came with my ipod are terrible. They sound awful and they never stay in my ears, they always fall out. Would these in ear headphones have a better chance at fitting? Do the ipod included headphones commonly do this? If all in ear headphones tend to do this, then I might just go with Sennheiser HD595's. Thanks in advance. As far as I know, the Ultimate Ears headphones have special add ons to help make the headphones fit in your ear.

I own them. Of course they'd have a better chance at fitting, especially with the foamies. They're IEMs whereas the iPod headphones are just earbuds. These sound so much better, but the price shows it. I love em, the next pair of phones I'll ever buy is from UE. This is considered one of the best because of the superior bass and clarity.

I have a pair of Shure E4C, they fit great and sound excellent, love the fact that they cancel out sound even when nothing is playing, and once music is being played, it's really hard to hear anything around you which is a good thing.

I have a pair of the UE 10 Pros and the Super.Fis as well as Shure E4Cs. All of them are great (the UE 10 Pros are for studio work) and will definitely fit your ears a little better than the iPod buds. Like EGGO said, they're definitely a bit more in price, but well worth it!

No hands-on experience with super.fi's, but I for one thinks their price is somewhat prohibitive. If you can swing it like nothing, then why the heck not.

In case you are more price-conscious, might wanna check out some cheaper alternatives like creative EP630, CX300 or sharp MD33. Personally I am a happy camper with a set of used E2Cs purchased for around $50.

I've never heard of Ultimate Ears before I read a review on their $950 headphones, definatly out of the question, but the cheaper ones got great reviews as well. The Shure E2Cs won't need an amp on an iPod, the E3s also probably will not, but with the E4s or E5s you might want to spring for a cheap headphone amp. I started out with some Sony Fontopia in-ears (the cheaper ones with a plastic body instead of rubber), loved them, asked if there was anything better, bought the Shures, and loved them more. Now I'm thinking about springing for E4s . Happy IEM hunting.

lol, I just looked them up, so they're their flagship headphones. They're said to be perfect headphones. They sure look amazing.

Another UE10 pro user here. Both on stage and in the control room and occasionally hooked to an ipod. The fit, isolation, and sound is superb.

I think I've hooked them up to my iPod once or twice...but that's about it. Stage/Studio work for the most part. I had other custom molds made for my other headphones, so they're almost as good as my UE10s.

Yep, headphone.com is great. I ordered from them once and everything was fine and dandy.

But, what are you getting, first? If you really want to make sure you're not making a bad purchase, confirm your purchase first with Head-Fi (the headphone fanatics).

if you just want something that works, a pair of sennheiser MX400 will do just fine. surely it only sounds so-so, but it's under $10 from amazon.

I'm planning to buy Ultimate Ears super.fi 5Pro, not sure if I should get them in black or white though. I'll check on those forums, thanks for the advice.
edit: They said that the Sennheiser 595's sound better, but they aren't noise isolating. Does that mean that everyone will be listening to my 595's when I use them because they're open.
