After about two months of working correctly, my Nomad Zen Xtra's headphone jack seems to have gone out. This is the second Zen I have owned in 3 months (my original one had a strange ringing sound when the backlight was off...) Now this one, the headphone jack is just quirky. Only the right channel comes out the whole time. The left channel sometimes fades away and can be brought back by wiggling the headphone jack around a bit, however it does not completely solve the problem.

I know that Creative's customer support blows, so I am turning to you guys to possibly help me out with replacing or fixing the headphone jack myself. I assume just some simply soldering will need to be done, but perhaps I am wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is NO LONGER UNDER the POS 3 MONTH WARRANTY! Thanks.

You don't want to mess with it and crack it open and kill it.

Still under warranty? Return it. Or try returning it to the store. If you bought it with your credit card, some cards let you return the product to them if the retailer won't accept returns.

This product is NOT under warranty anymore. THat is why I am trying to fix it myself rather than paying $82 damn dollars to that P.O.S. company for a repair bill (yes, $82 for a $.10 part).
