New phone is a Samsung Galaxy light, T399 with a 3.5mm TRRS socket (tip, ring , ring, sleeve) which is apparently something fairly standard, but what works in it, normal earbuds with a 3.5mm plug?

My phone is a refurb with no headsets, so I am looking to buy a HS330 headset (like $5 on amazon for Samsung OEM), and adapters to use our Sennheiser MX400 buds and a cassette adapter in the car. Do I need an adapter for the buds?

Normal 3.5mm plug will work fine. The extra connector is for in-line mics, and won't interfere with anything.

Thanks, I don't want to break my new toy, and Samsung is not forthcoming on what is compatible or exactly even what is used.

The L/R outputs are standard, or the same in the different headset standards (CITA & OMAP) where the mic and ground are reversed.
