Headlamps

Does anyone here use them? I just saw a guy wearing one under the hood of his car, and it dawned on me that is exactly what I need when working inside my case. Thoughts?

I use one all the time when camping (great for navigating trails at night or setting up stuff in the dark, much more convenient than a flashlight) and when working inside the case or when just used as a flashlight.

The beam is very bright and pretty focused, but you can get a diffused wide beam by sliding...
Slide-away diffuser lens cover changes beam shape from spot light to area light for different conditions

I once had a Princeton Tec Aurora:

Horrible. The battery casing is impossible to get off with a coin. I had to use the knife on my multitool. The hinge portion can loosen and just flop down all the time, requiring tightening with a screwdriver that I luckily had 5 miles from civilization. It also does not do well with NiMH rechargeables. A fresh set of batteries would only give me a few hours of usable bright light for some reason.

they are awesome for outdoors stuff..but works great for mechanics stuff, too. mine is a black diamond with a strong 1w single led spotlamp or a diffused 3-led flood lamp.. each with 3 brightness levels to conserve battery. awesome stuff
