Driver's license is all you need, but a birth certificate would help too. No need for a passport.

No idea where my BC (or a copy) would be. One of these days I actually need to get a passport...

I never knew you had to be on The Pill to get into Canada! I guess the party scene's a little too wild!

when i went to cananda (before 9/11), there were roads along the border (british columbia) and we just drove across, no check points, not even a sign "entering/exiting canada", 2 lane road in good shape too.

Just take your license and you'll be fine. Same for Mexico. Birth Certificate would help if you think they'll have any reason to question your citizenship.

I think you are definitely going to need your passport.

Last time I went (summer '02) I drove up with my sister via Detroit/Windsor, and she forgot her passport. She called her immigration lawyer and was told she could enter Canada but not exit. Same thing was told to us at the border. She had her roommate overnight it to my motel in London. She is a Canadian immigrant in the U.S. on a work visa (not sure which kind), but I am a permanent resident (green card) and I had my passport anyway.

just did a border crossing last week and they asked for my license and birth certificate.
have them both just in case.

I don't have one. Have never needed it. Well, guess I'm in for an adventure...
