Headed to the Jungle, how much do I have to worry about humidity and gear?

Going to Dominica for the rest of the week for a wedding. We will be doing a Jungle hike for up to 8 hours one day.

Just wondering how much I need to worry about having my 40D and lenses out during the hike.

Opinions?

If they stay in the same climate, and are protected from direct rain, it should be no problem. I had a 20D and 5D on two Amazon trips - much more humidity than Dominica - and it was not a problem. What can be a problem in the tropics is coming out of air conditioning and then dealing with instant condensation. Takes about 15 minutes to clear.

I carried several gallon size Ziplock bags and used them for "raincoats." They are also handy for packing underwear etc.

^ Corky's got it. Use big ziplocks to drylock your camera when going outside after you've been in air conditioning, and vise-versa. Also, make sure you've got your cam/flash turned off during this transition.
