I like most of you, never go to the doctor. I hate going. I don't take medicine unless I absolutely need it, so when I get a headache I just get through it, I VERY rarely take advil or anything. Lately (the last few months) I've been getting mild headaches that start in the lower back of my head and move upward. They are not terrible, but they last for a very long time and are definitely starting to wear on me.

Sometime back a nurse asked me if I ever had headaches and I had said from time to time, but never anything that made me think twice. She told me I had TMD (lockjaw). I never realized it, but after that visit I definitely notice that when I open my mouth past a certain point my mouth clicks pretty viciously. So much so that, when I eat, I make an unconscious effort not to open my mouth to far.

I think that is probably the source of the headaches, but they seem to be getting worse lately. Almost an every day thing.

Has anyone here ever dealt with anything like this? Is this something that's treatable? Or am I probably gonna just die?

Umm, the reason I cant go to the doctor is I'm not a millionaire and with no job cant get insurance.

And I do NOT wanna discuss Obamacare here.

If I had the means, I'd see a doctor for every little cough and sniffle.

I've just had bad experiences with doctors in the past.

OH yea... those are your symptoms... here take this. NEXT.

More often than not the diagnosis isn't even right, in my experience.

Do you work? Do you have a PPO or HMO?

I had a really good PPO when I worked at Hynix in Oregon. Checked out several doctors and eventually found one I really liked. She always took good care of me. Found the actual problem and had a good solution. One time I had a really bad sore throat and went to Urgent care late in the night. They incorrectly diagnosed Strep Throat. Gave me antibiotics.

Went to my doctor the next morning, she correctly diagnosed Mono and took my antibiotics away (which are actually quite bad during a bout with Mono). Gave me some pain killers so I could eat and drink.
Also took proper care of my skin tags so they wouldnt come back, something I'd been living with for almost 20 years.

You find a good doctor, you will appreciate them, trust me.

I had a jaw imbalance once which gave me headaches. My chiropractor showed me how to stretch the tight muscle and get it back in alignment. Much better now.
