Headache?

Hopefully the doctors of AT/HF can help me figure something out. I'd go see a doctor, but I don't have the time right now.

I've currently got a ridiculous headache. I haven't looked up the symptoms for a usual headache, but this is excruciatingly painful.

It feels like my brain is swollen an pushing against my skull. The pain is more prominent near the base of the skull where it meets the spine. My neck also feels swollen, which is putting pressure on the spine. I also feel an incredible amount of pressure in my eye sockets, as well as below my nose/above my gums. Almost feels like a sinus infection.

Swallowing causes more pain. Lights cause pain. Sounds cause pain. Moving my head in any way causes pain. Sleeping is near impossible, despite how tired I am.

I took a hot shower about an hour ago, no relief.

I've had these before. It's not as frequent as it used to be. but it's still a pain in the ass.

Just curious if it's a typical headache or if it could be something serious.

It hasn't eased up in 2.5 hours.

I don't know of any doctors that frequent here, I could be wrong.

Sounds like a migraine. Not much you can do really. They can be triggered by all sort of things, a lot of times it's something in your diet. A co-worker gets then and she gave me a list of what to cut out and it's stuff in practically every food category. A doctor can tell you more. The best you could do on your own is only eat organic veggies, eggs, and home-cooked meat for 2 weeks, nothing else, and then add things back in and see what triggers it. Or could not even be food, it could be from eye strain at your desk staring at a computer.

Definitely sounds like a migraine. I got them for 5 days when I quit added sugar, I think it was withdrawal. Lights made it worse, I just slept a lot to wait for it to go away.
