By mysterious means:), I am now in possession of a small medical centrifuge. For those who don't know, it's a circular machine with a few test-tube sized container spaces in a wheel that spins at breakneck speeds. They are meant to apply huge centrifugal force to separate out substances (i.e. separate blood).
So far, I've discovered that they are good for draining Crayola markers and VERY good for bringing ballpoint pens back to life. :D Whenever I find some test tubes I can try separating Kool-Aid, but for now I can't think of any other good experiments. Any ideas? :D

That's awesome. Don't know what I would do with one of those. Try syrup or something. That would be a bitch to clean out though......

Ohhh i want one of those..

Is it one of the Eppendorf Spinners?

Well you could try spinning down normal liquids for fun.

If I find anything else I'll try to reply

Fruit juice should be interesting.

I'd be quite interested to find out what happens to used engine oil - the mankier the better

Alternatively, just try some random stuff from your fridge, tomato ketchup should be good.

I suppose, if you're feeling brave enough you could try blood - then, repeat after a full english breakfast, with plenty of fried bread, bacon and black pudding. Be afraid, be very afraid. :)

Unfortunately, his/her suggestion is quite uninteresting (from a scientific point of view).

Obviously you have issues with your own sexuality and feel you need to make derogatory comments about other's sexual orientation to make yourself more sure you do not like getting it up the ass. Well I'm sorry you have issues, please try to take care of them at home with your boyfriend instead of making a pathetic attmept at insulting me.

Of course I'm going to spin down normal liquids. I'll probably start mixing things up just to separate them again. :) But I can't until I get some test tubes. I can't think of anything else that'll fit in those spaces.

Killbat, if you should by chance become bored with the things you find around your place, and decide that perhaps you might find some other more interesting things outside of your humble abode, please let me know where you live so I can stay out of your neighborhood tonight:Q.....

But seriously though, I'd probably find owning a centrifuge extemely entertaining, until the novelty wore off. Enjoy!!!

(...so, where do you live now?:)) -kd5-

In our county (Orange County in SoCal), the city is considering using toilet water as tap water (from sink, hose, etc.). This is pretty disgusting, but the company that is doing the purification says that reusing toilet water is more "clean" than the old way of using tap water. Maybe you should drop my socal and pick up a sample, check it out... ;)

Evan, it's ok. He called you a bundle of sticks. I'm sure he meant to type "faggit" though.

killbat, we used those things alot in chemistry...it used to be fun to put some mixes containing superheavy chemicals, like lead oxides and the like in just to spin em up....somehow, we mixed something together that when supermixed, it exploded....shredded the centrifuge pretty nicely though:)
