and dear GOD...dont get a damn projector..who cares if your screen is 100' if it looks like sh!t

Spoken like someone who has never sat below a NEC, SONY or RUNCO.

lol thats funny. i have more knowledge of home theater than probably 9/10 of these forum members. home theater is my life. projectors can NOT project as crisp of a display as a crt. cant be done sorry buddy. the only reason to get a projector is for a large home theater setup or bragging rights which neither of those pertain to this situation.

he wants the best picture possible..not gonna get that with an lcd or projector.

sorry goose i cant recommend that specific hitachi. you should still have the model #'s i gave you. id look at those..

and it boils down to what your eyes see. some people are born fortunate enough to not be able to pick out the smallest flaws and have it totally ruin their viewing experience. so goose go for what ur happy with now.. dont worry about whats coming out later..youll never decide if you do.

bring ur own dvd player to test out your own dvds..most stores will let you. hell i brought an xbox and even a vcr when i shop. get one that has a good viewing angle(crts hurt side to side and dlps hurt top to bottom) and presents a picture YOU are happy with..not anyone else.

also if you like that lcd panel...find a place where you can watch lord of the rings...monsters inc...and a basketball game...all in a room thats lighting is similar to ur home on it. most lcd's have trouble with black light performance...color banding...and motion blur..but if you dont see any
