This might be a good jumping off point starting with consumer reviews: http://www.audioreview.com/defaultcrx.aspx

Home theater mag might also be of interest: http://www.hometheatermag.com/

Personally I would reccomend one of the Samsung HDTV's (DLP): http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_subtype.jsp?eUser=&prod_path=%2fAudio+and+Video%2fTV%2fDLP+TV

Samsung's new HLN (NOT HLM, this is the old set...) lineup is rather impressive.
Can you hook a brother up with a good price on a 50+" Samsung widescreen? 🙂

Skoorb, what is your range?

Right now I am looking for a projection HDTV anywhere from 42 and up depending on the deal. I really don't want to spend more than a grand but I know I will probably end up paying arround 1.5K. I have been lurking arround the AVS forums and trying to find what they are recommending and using but they have some expensive tastes.

The one I am looking right now is....

Panasonic 47" Widescreen HDTV Monitor Brand/Model: PAN PT47WX53 $1399 shipped from Circut City

Panasonic 47-inch Widescreen HDTV Monitor PT-47WXC43 $1382 shipped (not sure what the difference is but you would be able to knock of $98 if you picked it up from Walmart

If anyone has any imput please let me know

This is around my price range. What do you guys think of that one? Can't get a big projection TV... no room. I would have liked a 36'' but it jacks up the price by almost $500 and we were trying to stay around 1k.

Mom doesn't want a widescreen 🙁
It's gonna be displaying lots of standard TV channels.

A 3D comb filter is better than a 3-line filter, correct? Or will I probably not even be able to tell the difference?

I just had my new set delivered last night. It's a Mitsubishi WL-82913. It's pretty sweet for high-def material.
