I have a friend that wants to get an HDTV. He isn't sure what he wants to get, but he wants to spend about $1000 this black friday. What would you all reccommend? He's not sure what is best: lcd or dlp, 1080p, 1080i, 720p. Also, he would like some brand suggestions. Anyone have any input? Thanks!
 
What are his viewing habits (DVD, SD, HD)? Does he want to connect other devices like his PC or console? What inputs does he have/need? What's his viewing environment (light, dark) and distance? That's the place to start, but even knowing the factors there's the personal taste aspect of which he'd prefer.
