Go easy on me because I'm kinda a noob when i comes to HDTV.

If I bought a hdtv card for my pc and a dvi to component cable adapter, wouild I be able to connect the cable to my pc and run hdtv to my hd ready tv.

Sorry if this sound really stupid idea.

So...

Videocard DVI to component adapter to component cables to component input on tv?

That's what I was doing with my 9800pro and it worked well.

yep thats what i want to do, but will I get full HD quality on the tv?

Also really stupid question, but help the n00b.
The HD tuner card is all I need to get HDTV to my pc, I can connect the regular analog cable to it and watch programs that broadcast in HDTV?

I don't think there are any HDTV cable tuner cards, and even if there were you would still have to subscribe to HD content though your cable company.

OH thanks for your help.

but you can get a hdtv card to watch OTA hdtv. which is the local channels your area offers.

i am currently using the ati hdtv wonder. hardware is good, but software isnt to good. so i am using meediotv to record ota hdtv content

the plus about getting the ati card is you get a remote and an antenna for a decent price.
also check out fusion dvico and avermedia a180.

Also, some hardware based HDTV tuner cards like MyHD MDP-100/120/130 bypass the video card completely and connect directly to your display, just buy the cable and perhaps a daughter card for the proper connectivety.
