HDTV question

I'm looking to buy a new TV that is HDTV ready and will support the Xbox 360's Hi-Def features. I don't have a huge budget so I'm looking at a 27" HD ready box. Something like this.

So my question is, will a tv like this offer the support the Xbox 360 offers? I assume so, reading the specs here. Just want to be sure, thanks.

You'll want to make sure it can do 720p, which is the gold standard for the 360 and is likely the PS3 will internally render images at the same resolution. 1080p might still be a dream for console games, and 1080i isn't that much better than 720p if its better at all...

True High Definition is formated in 16:9 so if it is at all possible try and get a widescreen television.

YES it will.

You can get a great deal on a wide screen HDTV for the same coin. They have a 26 inch widescreen for 300.00 shipped free. Its refurb but I like refurb it means they fixed the item that goes wrong from design and it makes me feel bad for the poor person who has the same set not refurbed that will probably die off for what the refurb has corrected.

I don't think it would be a good idea to get a 4:3 HDTV at this point (if it ever was).

I agree, get a 16:9 HDTV.

Also get somthing a little bigger than 27 inches imo.

If your budget it that tight, stay with the TV you already have.

what's your budget?

thankfully, i am still in high school and my parents payed for our very nice tv 😀

you can find some 16:9 tv's that are pretty small, right?

Ah, forgot about widescreen...thanks. I'm looking to keep it at around $300.

I could go for that 27" HDTV I posted above, or a regular 32" I've seen for similar prices.

Given those two examples, would you go for the 27" 4:3 HD ready box, or an analog 32" if prices were equal?

I'm going to look around for widescreens before I buy though. That Philips someone posted looks like a nice widescreen, but it's not HD ready as far as I can tell.
