HDTV + PC

Okay, I have this widescreen HDTV:

It has an HDMI connection, and I was wondering if I could hook it up to my PC to game on and such via an HDMI to DVI adapter or and HDMI/DVI cable? If so, how good would it look? I have the eVGA 7800GT CO for a GPU.

Get a pixel based TV, like an LCD. Don't get a CRT. It will ne ok with DVR, but it will suck for games.

That would be a better option if an LCD or plasma didn't cost several times as much as a direct-view CRT. 😛

You can use a DVI->HDMI adapter, and run your graphics card at either 720p or 1080i (or 480i/p, I guess, if you want). 720p will probably look better (since this TV doesn't have anywhere near 1080 scanlines), and it should look as good as 'native' HD content.

LOL, oops. I read it as he was going to buy it. Ok, too late. Work with that you have, just expect overscan and other CRt based issues.
