I've read several of the anandtech reviews of recent nVIDIA and ATI. I believe I read that a nVIDIA (or maybe it was the chip) supports HD video?

Anyway, are there any cards out now that have HDTV decoding/tuning? If it is supported what additional equipment, if any, is required acutally watch HDTV broadcasts on my computer?

thanks for the input.

I believe ATI's Radeon has HDTV, the Geforce doesn't, the NV20 might? I don't know, but the Radeon "supports" it, though no one really knows what that means or will do yet. =)

Hauppauge just released a tv tuner card that features HDTV decoding.
It should be out later this month, the catch -- $400.

Still, I bet $400 will be less than a regular HDTV tuner to hook to your TV that doesn't do all the other capture stuff. The Radeon does support the HDTV video type, basically meaning if you have an external tuner you can run the signal through the Radeon for capture with no problem.
