HDTV on PC?

I'm going to be getting HDTV in my house soon, and was wondering how it is possible to get the MPG2 .TS files onto your computer? I don't want to have to use an OTA HDTV card, is there any other way?

HDTV through Time Warner cable (requires their receiver)....I have heard about using Firewire though..is this possible?

Yeah, only an HDTV card could do it. There might be some video processors or the like that could, but they'd be more expensive than an HDTV card. The 6800 ultra is supposed to be able to do HDTV out and I think HDTV in, but that'd be more expensive as well, not to mention its not even out yet.

If your cable receiver comes with a functional firewire port you can record to a DVHS deck depending how the program is flagged. Otherwise you need a hdtv card. The Dvico Fusion 3 QAM (due out at end of month) will be able to record ota and any unencrypted QAM broadcasts from your cable.
