HDTV Help

ok, just used up the parts of my old spare parts to make a "HTPC" for my mother...

she has about 3 yr old Sony Trinitron HDTV, not an LCD.

there was no input for the HDTV on the back of her TV, only could connect via Analog Video Component cable (Y, Pb, Pr)

all seems to work fine but it seems that the TV cannot display the entire desktop at one screen and when i move the mouse over to the edge of the screen, the screen jumps over to the other side that was not visible.

is it the connection?
do i need to have some kind of driver installed for the TV?

on Display Properies/Setting/Monitor, it shows as a default monitor...

thanks in advance for help.

You need to check two items:

Set Vertical Refresh at 60HZ ... tv set will not with a higher refresh rate

You also probably need to try various resolutions of pixels to see what
will display best on the tv set

make sure you are outputting the highest possible resolution the TV can handle. you said it's an HDTV, so I'm assuming it's one of those 480i/p/1080i sets.
