HDTV for Xbox360?

Tomorrow, I may go buy an lcd HDTV for my xbox 360. What should I look for that would be best for gaming? Does anyone know if any B&M stores, preferably, has any sales?
 
There was a deal on a 32" 720p Olevia for $400 + tax. Not sure if it's still going on. Check out Slickdeals or Fatwallet.
 
For that price you don't really have many options: Vizio, Olevia, possibly Westinghouse. Maybe others if you're willing to get something smaller than 32".
 
Yeah Big Lots I think has it for $400+tax. I probably gonna grab that if they still have it in store
 
Olevia's are exactly what they sound like... a BARGAIN HDTV. You should really save your money, or wait till February (after the super bowl) to get a better one. Either that, or just go out and buy a 24" Dell WS LCD for your computer and hook the 360 up to that.
 
I'd try to find a CRT HDTV. They'll be cheaper and won't have ghosting issues, as well as better black-levels. I recently bought one of Samsung's high-end LCDs, the 4071F, and my Insignia CRT looked better, even at a smaller size and lower resolution.
 
If you do the HD Advantage deal at Best Buy (big threads on FW and SD), you can get a lot of good 42" sets for around $400-$500. I got an LG 42" 1080p LCD HDTV for $620 (with three free HD-DVDs).

I think the best deal starting on Sunday is a Samsung 42" 720p plasma HDTV; it'll be $450 (or $350 if you buy/return the installation).

The easiest HD Advantage discount to get is the $300 off for signing up for DirecTV. I signed up in store, got my discount, and called DirecTV as soon as I walked out to cancel.

CRT will almost ALWAYS look better than an LCD monitor... the only big difference is that they cant go up to 1080p and have a max size as well... plus they weight about 2x as much as a larger LCD. (150lbs at least)
 
I just bought a Vizio from Wal-Mart and am plenty happy with it(first HDTV). Yeah having a Sharp, Sony, Samsung, ect would have been nice but IMO its not worth it for $300+ more unless you just have the money to burn. I say go with what you can afford now because it will be much better than you got now. If you can wait then by all means wait.
 
Look around at what you can get using fatwallet and such (as another poster stated). It might be worth your while to put that money in your savings account and make due with what you have until you can afford a bit more. $500 isn't going to give you many options without catching huge sales and such (or ripping off BB + DTV!).
 
if you're not an elitist idiot, then just get a westinghouse or olevia. I have used numerous models of both and they are the best sets for the money.

That's why I've been looking for a used Sony 34XBR960. It's not the biggest HDTV CRT ever made (that's around 40") but it has the superfine-pitch tube that has a resolution of 1440x1080i. It's still not QUITE true 1080i/p, but it's the highest resolution available on a consumer-level television set.

The HAVE made true 1080i sets, but they're for professional video work and cost around $20,000 or so.

I guess I'm just an elitist idiot for wanting a larger (42") 1080p set with excellent black levels instead of just settling for something I'll want to upgrade in a year. If I was a real elitist idiot, I'd start talking about how monster cables are fantastic and well worth the price... (but I dont think that, so I wont)
