HDMI Standby Issue

I may have made a post about this earlier, I forget...

I just bought an Asus WH226H LCD *Monitor*. When hooking it up via HDMI, the monitor does not turn off when the computer enters standby or shutsdown. Instead, I get a "no signal" error and have to manually turn off the monitor.

This is when using the DVI->HDMI adapter. When hooked up via DVI, everything is well.

I *really* want to use HDMI, but this bug is driving me batshit insane.

I've seen some work around that works for Nvidia cards, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any that would apply to an ATI.

There doesn't appear to be a monitor driver. Asus said the Generic PnP monitor one would work.

I tried to create one using MonInfo, but that didn't seem to help.

The reason I ask that is I had problems with my own monitor until I dl'd the driver from lg and installed it. Afterwards my monitor behaved properly. The generic driver is just that, generic and may not contain the necessary codes for your monitor to behave properly.
