HDMI cable size?

was looking at an hdmi switcher for my mulitple outputs to a single hdmi connector on the tv. reading the reviews for various brands and configs. some folks talked about cables that worked and cables that didn't. and somewhere (my memory fails me) i was reading about various gauges; 30, 24, 22 awg wire sizes, within the cable i assume. i would think fatter,eg lower number, is better. ive searched this forum to no avail, so does anyone have any opinions on this subject? my gear is all 1.3b spec, if it matters. thanks

22 or 24 are fine, 30 is too small for anything but very short cables. If you are not going longer than 6-8ft of the typical hdmi cable then just about anything will work.

thank you. also found that blue jean cable is a pretty good technical source on a variety of related subjects. onward....

I've used quite a few Monoprice HDMI cables (inc. a 35-foot projector run) and never had a problem. Plus, they're cheap, so stock up! Never hurts to have a few extra.... never know when you're going to get a new TV, take an Xbox over to a friend's house, etc....

I just bought 7.... my man cave is getting painted probably next week or within ~2 weeks... i hate to go and spend 30 bucks at BB if i need a hdmi cable for something so easy... so I bought for all components, and a couple extra like you said.. !!!
