HDDErase Not Starting

HDDErase starts to list the drives but gets stuck. The drive I'm trying to wipe is an old PATA. Anyone know what the problem might be?
 
Hello and welcome to the forums.
The program might not installed correctly. Reinstall and check again. Also it might not be working with the old PATA disks.
Other options are to use different programs. Windows Explorer can format a disk and CCleaner has a drive wipe option.
 
Thanks, ArisVer. HDDErase is loaded from a DOS boot CD. The program is compatible with the PATA disk that I want to wipe. I am using HDDErase because it does a more thorough job than the alternatives. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to get it to run.
