I have two harddisks, which I want to find the throughputs of. any good software out there, freeware, small?

basically just want to see:
- random data access time
- transfer rate kb/s- as a burst value and as an average value.

help?

hdtach - the read tests are free, but you have to pay if you want to benchmark write performance. I'm not sure if it's free for NT/2k/XP at all.

AIDA32 also includes a disk benchmarking tool - A variety read, write, and access time test, plus a CPU utilization readout for each test.
That simple little HD Speed Test is pretty nifty too. My RAMdisk scores around 748MB/sec regular, 1500MB/sec burst.:)

It was recently updated to provide free read benchmarks for NT based OSes.
