HDD Read Speed Query

Hi,
I want to know if Read Speed of HDD has any affect/fps impact on gaming ?
My PC is old.
Intel C2D
HD5670
4GB RAM
Windows 7 OS
HHD1 ( Seagate 7200.12 500GB SATA,C:OS+virtual memory Primary & D : data )
HHD2 ( Seagate 7200.11 250GB SATA E: Primary data )

Now,where should I install(which drive) my game for better performance ?
How do know which HDD got better Read Speed ?
Do I need to install any application ?
Is better read speed of HDD has any affect of game or other installed applications ?
Or there will be no difference in my case ?
Sadly I can'y afford a 128GB SSD at present.
Please tell me!
What would be best for me ?

There sometimes is an impact, depending on the game -- ones that load a lot of maps and so forth will speed up if put on an SDD versus an HDD, for example. But those drives are sufficiently similar that the hardware probably matters less than other factors such as how full the drive is -- and even then, it probably won't make much difference.

I would install games on the hard drive with less data on it.

You can improve read speed by using a really good defrag program, like perfect disk or Diskeeper.

Also, what version of Windows 7 do you have? If you have the 64 bit version, then adding more memory will reduce hard drive access during gaming (the less of this the better as hard drive access can lead to skipping and pauses in gameplay), as more data can be loaded into the much faster memory..

I got 500GB+250GB HDD space.
So I don't have much free space.
My free space varies 15%-10% of each drive.
But,I defrag regular,at least once in two day each deice with auslogic simple defrag method.
Using 64bit OS but adding more RAM to this old machine will not be an good idea I guess.
I'm currently saving money to upgrade my PC in next year.

As I can't afford SSD now I must have to bear load time of games.
BTW,I tested Read Speed of both HDDs with HDTune.
HDD1 got 100mb/s avg and HDD2 near 80mb/s respectively.
