HDD question

I have a WD Black 500gb sata 3 HDD and was just wondering what programs I can run to test if the HDD is running correctly. In the Windows Experience Index it only gets a 5.9, why is this? That seems a little low, and since that is the only thing I have to work with, it leads me to believe something might be wrong.

That's normal for that drive. WEI is useless.

anyway HD Tune is one of many free programs but I'm sure it's working fine. You could think about an SSD!

WEI returns 5.9 for any single 7200 RPM platter drive.

I would but I'm still gaming on a 19":'(, Getting a 24 this month hopefully.
