well here is my dillema
i have a mobo on a 845Ge chipset.
i reinstalled my system not so long ago and the install wouldn't let me use the full capacity of my 40 gig hdd. it only let me use 30. it said that it may be bios related.
my hdd is a samsung
so wtf?!
thanks in advance for your help.

Any modern system shouldn't have a BIOS that can't handle 40gb. You said reinstall so was this a system that was prebuilt? If so sometimes manufacturers like to make an additional small partition. When you installed Windows what did you see listed? Only one partition? Any unallocated space? Try this, right-click on My Computer, then Manage (assuming 2K or XP), then click on Disk Management and tell us what you see.

the thing is i had a system installed before, and i reinstalled successfully before as well.
the problem is that my Phoenix bios v X.X is old and i will have to update it.
