HDD Problems

Hi,
My power supply blew up recently and now my hd doesn't spin even with a new power supply in. Is there anyway of fixing this problem? Or is there anyway that I can extract the data on the hd, cuz my latest backup was couple months old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

I don't know of any miraculous way of getting the data off. But you can try some strange ideas, such as taking the plates off and putting them on a spinning spindle (don't sue me if you try this and something bad happens)

But if the data is really important to you, you can always go to those data recovery centers, where you can pay them to get data of HDD's. They can sometimes even recover files from the emptied Windows recycle bin.

Keep you HDD in deep freezer for some cooilng down your HDD. Mount it the next day and back up your DATA quickly because after getting warm your HDD won't spin again.
