Hdd problems

hrm...the hdd in my 2nd computer messed up, it won't boot up. But i can hook it up as a 2nd hdd drive on my first computer. Whats the best way of retrieving files? its going slow when i try to copy and then it will occasionally cause a blue screen about memory dump to come up and then reboot my comp.

If you have space on you're 1st computer's harddrive, transfer the files from the malfunctioning one. If you do not have enough space, but do have a gig or so, and if you have a CD-R (no reason not to since they are so cheap these days), back up the files on CD.

What do you mean by the harddrive "messed up"? What OS do you have? Did you try bypassing the boot process to load the default widows(?) settings?
