HDD problem?

I am having a problem reinstalling my 20G, 7200 rpm Maxtor drive. I upgraded from win98 to w2k, I was not able to do a fresh install on this drive, I used an old IBM 3G drive and that drive worked fine. This drive is small and slow, so I want to put my 20G back in. I used the Maxtor Maxblast utility to copy all the info from the IBM to the Maxtor drive. When this was completed, I disconnected the IBM, set the Maxtor as the master drive. It boots to a point then I get an Inaccessbile boot device error.
The Maxblast utility rewrote the drive to all 0's, so it should be clean.
Anyone have any ideas.😕

hmmm...
So you did a low level format?
This is a bit simple, but did you make sure that you only had one master, or that the second master was set up for a secondary master?

Yes, I did that. I am going to try to install the OS on the 20G drive without copying the info from the old drive. Once the drive works I will try to copy the data over. We will see.
