HDD noise problem

I have a super quiet samsung 7200rpm drive, problem is it was only superquiet when i got it, it has gotten progressively louder and louder for the last 2 months(how long i've had this pc). do HDDs get louder with age and if so does it happen this quickly?
thanks.

it's less of a high pitched whine, but more of a deeper purring(seeking?) sound. i almost couldnt hear it before when i had 1 cpu fan, and 1 vantec stealth 92mm case fan. now i have 80mm ~25db panaflow, 1 video card fan, the 92mm vantec stealth and 1 cpu fan, it has actually gotten louder, being very noticible and louder than the fans.

Tighten the screws that mount the drive. That's what I would do first. If they have worked loose, you can get a gradual increase in noise. You should also check other threaded fasteners while you are at it.
