your orig is ATA-5, the new is ATA-6 so no prob there
the orig says 4200 RPM the new 7200, so there will be higher heat involved, and slightly higher voltage drain
akso this will prob involve a phone in reactivation of XP pro
and your HDD prob has a special area loaded with recovery software/drivers which will no longer be avail, so you will be getting older generic MS drivers loaded if at all.

not familiar with hitatchi so just speculating here

Hi i have corporate edition, so i will not be bother with phoning microsoft but yes it's true what about recovery cd i lost the cd so i expect xp pro to find them again..

How much space do you need? There's a 60GB model too. The E7K60's are very nice and fast.

Hi currently have 40GB + external 250GB lacie so being on a budget i could save the £30 GBP and use it for the memory...
