Hey, Im was about to purchase a mobo & hdd.. but then I double checked everything and saw something funny..

The mobo says it supports SATA II and this HDD says its SATA 3/gbs or something.. Will they be compatible? There be so many different kinds of HDD interfaces and I get so confused.. help me out : /

ya, don't worry so much, just try it... if it doesn't work, then figure out why. I believe those 2 marketing terms that you mentioned are the same thing...

The motherboard will support both SATA1 and SATA2, so yes it will work. Thats like a computer not supporting USB1.0, but supporting USB2.0
