Recently re-installed WXP on a new HDD, a better one, after re-installing everthing, tried to wipe, delete old WXP install on replaced HDD, but it would not let me do it, is there a walkthru/idiot guide i can use to wipe my old drive clean? Have been into WXP Recovery Console before and have a W98 Install floppy.

Right click your old drive, properties, security, advanced.
Take ownership.
Give yourself complete permissions,
Try again.

If that doesn't work, try bartsPE boot disk to format

Thanks montag, used this method,-
go into Control Panel/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management and select the old drive you wish to reformat

An assertive, if not necessarily wise man once said that there's no problem that can't be solved with the application of a sufficiently large hammer. If you need a really blunt instrument to wipe a drive, Delpart.exe is just such a hammer. You can download it from BoodDisk.com's DOS utility page, copy it to a bootable floppy, and run it.

Be VERY careful. It works, and it WILL wipe any partition from your drive.

LOL, this is a very good advise.

However the wise old man should know that in today world it is fashionable among the young generation to forgo the floppy on their computers.

So, in such case, the same can be done with Booting from CD like this, http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
