HDD failure

We've been moving around a lot these last few months and my Seagate must have hit one too many bumps. This drive with my ubuntu install and media files wont boot up. I cant even use ubuntu or mandrivia live cds when it is hooked up. I get this error over and over again..
"buffer I/O error on device hda, logical block 0.
hda: task_in_intr: status=0x59 {DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error }.
hda: task in intr: error=0x40 {UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=0, high=0, low=0, sector=0.
failed opcode was: unknown.
Bad_request: I/O error, dev hda, sector 0"

Is there any hope i could get my data off this drive? BTW partions are JFS.

yes, a professional clean room facility may be able to retrieve data, if it's usable is another story, extremely expensive and no guarantees.
