HDD cooler question...

Ordering this soon because my HDDs are at 47C...too hot🙁.

Has anyone used this or knows if Vantec is good? Also, when I get it, can I just mount it while the drive is already inside the case, or do I have to take it out first?

Edit: It comes in 5.25" and 3.5" sizes..how do I know what will fit my drive?

old HDDs used to be 5.25", and all optical drives are 5.25"

I have heard alot of people say that HDD coolers are really not that helpful. Maybe you could just get some better case fans or move your hardrive into a better spot... What case are you using?

I also think its the case fans, they are really cheap no name brand. But I just want to give the HDD cooler a try.

A HDD cooler won't do anything if you already have high ambient temps and poor air flow. It will just blow hot air on the HDD. Try out some better case fans and THEN buy a HDD cooler. How many fans are there? What size?

5.25" one is probably for putting HDD's into a 5.25" bay.
