While it should work, I would highly recommend using some sort of SSD, especially for a laptop.

Yes it is and I am using the SSD that is preinstalled on the Computer

If you are adding the drive as secondary storage, it may be cheap but it will be slow and will probably significantly impact the operation of your laptop when on battery power.

If you can afford it, you'd be better off spending a few extra dollars to add a 500GB or 1TB 2.5" SSD instead of a mechanical hard drive. You'd see far better performance, and less battery drain from the SSD.
