HDD and Power lights on case - ON??

Hi...

I have the SX 1040 and am just doing an initial boot up of my new system.
Question: After boot up should the two lights on the front
panel be illuminated?

I finally got the green power light to come on (and only by hooking it to the mobo backwards). But should the orange HDD light also be steadily ON in normal operation or only when being used to search data.

Oddly, the Orange LED in my SX1040 also stays on constantly. The thing is, I'm pretty sure it worked at one time, but it doesn't now.
 
well, i also have had problems with the led's on my sx1040. at first they were fine and everything was working great. after a while, i noticed that my power led never came on. of course i thought that the bulb had just burned out so i ordered a blue one. the blue one still didnt work so i used to as my hd led. antec sent me a whole new wiring "kit" for all the headers and led's. tried that and still didnt work. still dont know what it is...but here is the real weird thing...i kept resetting my machine a couple seconds after i turned it on, and when the power went OFF, the power led stayed ON. now, what the hell is going on here? anyone have an answer or possibly a solution for the problems? sorry, this is somewhat off topic, but im not sure whats wrong with your led's either...

Well, t4t3r, as I mentioned in my opening post, I simply hooked my Power LED to the mobo backwards and it works fine. You might try that. Perhaps they wired it in reverse (hot wire and ground wire got twisted around).

Bur still confused as to when one should expect the orange HD light to illuminate. All the time or intermittently as you acess HD for data.

The HD light should only lash when the computer is accessing the Hd for info. I have an Antec 830 with a flshing red light for power and a blue LED for HD. The red is always flashing and the blue comes on when the computer goes to the HD.
