First thanks for reading this post and any input would be appreciated.

I built a new computer about 2 months ago and everything worked great. Yesterday, i was browsing around on the net (mozilla-rock on) when i get the BSoD. It had it told me all the generic crap about how the problem could be this or this or this or this or or or ... Anyway, i rebooted and before i could get to the logon screen (XP home), it gave the BSoD again, and this time the error "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" was given. So i rebooted again and the POST told me that there was no hard drive detected. I opened the case and made sure all connections were secure and rebooted. This time it gave me the same BSoD as before. I swapped out the cables to the hard drive but there is no hard drive detected everytime now. I can hear and feel the hard drive spin up. The last time i tried to reboot, i got no signal to my monitor, it was just black. I swapped video cards, no difference. I connected the monitor to an older comp and it worked fine. I have no idea if the hard drive problem and the monitor problem are related. ANY IDEAS? My machine specs are below. You can email me at pickle9090@hotmail.com if you can't post.

A8V Deluxe motherboard
Athlon 64 3500+ cpu
2x512mb Crucial Ballistix pc4000 memory
120GB Seagate Ultra SATA hard drive
eVGA 6800 GT 256MB (oc'd 406mhz and 1000mhz)

A quick search on Microsoft's site shows that that particular STOP error may indicate bad RAM. That's something to look at, I suppose. If you're not even getting it to boot anymore, maybe try resetting the CMOS, or I suppose it's even possible that the motherboard is faulty too - but then again, that's extremely strange for something to appear out of nowhere like that. As far as I know, such problems will usually crop up as soon as you get the hardware, for the most part.

I don't really know anything about that particular motherboard, but I'm sure others who do will post here once it's not the middle of the night. :p

Edit: Have you tried the hard drive in another computer, just to isolate the problem? Since you indicated that you tested the monitor with an older computer, I'd try that with the drive as well (sorry if this is obvious or if you've already tried it; I'm just listing ideas).

Edit2: Just noticed it was a Serial ATA drive....I guess that makes it somewhat difficult to test in an older machine, doesn't it? :p

In any case, maybe just try booting up with the drive disconnected and only one memory stick in at a time, see if that does anything.

trying the ide HDD shouldn't be a problem. The memory is also a thing i haven't tried. Unfortunately, i'm at work right now and will have to try it later this morning. Thanks alot for the ideas. If you find anything else please post.

It ended up being one of my memeory sticks. It was corrupt. Sucks because i just bought both 512mb sticks from crucial like 2 months ago. They were Ballistix PC4000 DDR500. They were over $150 a piece. The are gonna replace it no problem though, and i can still play Doom 3 on the highest settings.:D
